Where to go in winter in Tirol?

Skiing at sunrise, ski touring after sunset, a spectacular show at Kufstein Fortress or a walk through the magical park of lights? Tirol impresses again this winter with a plethora of events on and off the slopes. There is always something going on in the "land in the mountains".

First Line in Fieberbrunn: Sunrise skiing

The early bird catches the worm. In this case, the virgin ski slope. The exclusive group of maximum 25 people - all well refreshed with coffee and croissants - head up the mountain in Fieberbrunn at 07.30 hrs, right on time to catch the sunrise. Accompanied by local guides, the early risers make their first turns on slopes that are theirs to enjoy alone. When official ski operations begin, the group is already at their first stop and enjoying a delicious "breakfast on the mountain".

Evening ski touring at Buchensteinwand

The ascent is a bit of a challenge, but the descent over untouched slopes catapults you straight into the bliss that only ski touring can offer. It's especially romantic when there’s a big moon in the sky: every Tuesday and Thursday, the Buchensteinwand ski area in the Pillerseetal offers "tour nights". One slope stays open until 22.00 hrs and the "Weitblick” summit restaurant also stays open on Thursdays.

Kufstein Light Festival

After its successful premiere last year, the impressive production at Kufstein Fortress will go into its second phase from 23th December 2022 to 12th February 2023.  This time, too, the "voice of the castle" will break its silence in a multimedia spectacle and take visitors on an audio-visual journey in which large-format panoramic projections and 3D video mappings magnificently frame the historical setting.

"Around the world" at Innsbruck Hofgarten

The LUMAGICA park of lights is coming to Innsbruck's Hofgarten for the third time this year with a completely new installation. Visitors can look forward to a fantastic journey around the world from 18th November 2022 to 29th January 2023. Over 300 light installations and mystical sounds will line the circular path, which glitters and sparkles in a brilliant display in the park opposite the majestic Innsbruck Hofburg. Verdict: Not to be missed!
