The legendary "Karwendel March" becomes even more sustainable
The “Karwendel March", in which ambitious amateur athletes will once again run and hike over distances of 52 or 35 kilometres through the Karwendel Mountains on 26th August 2023, is planning to place an even greater focus on sustainability: from now on, three euros per participant will be donated to Karwendel Nature Park. Before the big sporting event, people at Lake Achensee also devote themselves to literary effusions: at this year's "achensee.literatour", high-profile authors will be reading from their books again, e.g. Dirk Stermann, Sandra Lüpkes, Anja Bachl and crime star Bernhard Aichner.
Biggest summer sports event 2023: Mountain Running and Trail Running World Championships in Innsbruck and Stubaital.
The "World Mountain and Trail Running Championships 2023," Tirol’s largest summer sports event, will take place in Innsbruck and Stubaital from 6th to 10th June 2023. Athletes from over 60 nations are expected to compete for medals in four competitions (Vertical, Trail Short, Trail Long, Mountain Classic) on some of the most beautiful trails in the Alps.
360° Trail Camp in the Tirolean Zugspitz Arena
Leading brands from the trail running scene will present themselves in the Tirolean Zugspitz Arena from 19th to 23rd May 2023. Enthusiastic trail runners can test the trail running and actively participate in running workshops. Athletes will talk about their experiences on trails and product developers about their design work in a series of exciting lectures. Safety on the mountain" will also be a central theme at the camp.
Big emotions and plenty of action at the IFSC Climbing World Cup Innsbruck-Tirol
After the successful events of the past two years, four international competitions will again be held at the Innsbruck Climbing Centre from 12th to 18th June 2023: World Cups in the disciplines of bouldering, lead and para-climbing will be taking place, as well as a Speed European Cup. The top-class, six-day climbing event will be attended by over 500 participants from 40 nations.
International mountain bike elite at "Crankworx" in Innsbruck
When Crankworx (21.06. to 25.06.2023) transforms Bikepark Innsbruck into a playground for the international mountain bike elite for the seventh time, an action and festival atmosphere are guaranteed. The world's best bikers will compete in seven disciplines for the title of King & Queen of Crankworx at the only European stop on the World Tour. In addition to breathtaking pro events, visitors can also look forward to an action-packed kids' programme, a bike expo and the legendary after-parties in 2023.
